I was so glad the extra spool was available, makes the reel much more versatile when switching rods for the conditions.

I get this is on the low end of fly reels, but with that said, I am very impressed with this reel. I have it loaded with 30# backing, and Rio 400gr Striper line with 7 foot striper leaders. very pleased with the response from the shop, their suggestions and especially their service. This is a back up spool for my Orvis Clearwater 909-4 which i am using this fall chasing Stripers at the Md. and Delaware shores, and off my boat in the chesapeake for Striper, Blues, and Spanish Mackeral. This fall I have made the shift to just using a fly rod for my saltwater fishing. Catching the New moon tides at the ocean this coming weekend and the team at MyFlyRod got this spool out of their shop same day of my order, after recommending the set up above to me that morning. Great service and Great product.
