I decided to go ahead and purchase an extra spool when ordering a different type of line. I’m glad I did! I had Reelflyrod put on backing as well as the new line. The new spool fit perfectly and I now have more versatility with my setup. I recommend you purchase an extra spool for your ION reel. It seems to be a very good product.

The Echo Ion Reel/spools are a great value easy to load spare spool. Always good to have a couple of extra spools loaded up for quick changes/
