The Echo Musky Rod was purposely designed to cast flies the size of your shoe with accuracy and ease. It's a good casting rod for heavy musky flies and lines. The tip section did break within the first 20 cast just below the second guide while delivering the presentation cast. But Echo was excellent about replacing the tip for free as a defect. But they also sell just the tip section for ~$40 so I bought a second one just to have. The extra 4" is wonderful for getting a good deep figure eight on boats with raised deck.
