The Bar stock aluminum makes this reel extremely durable, lightweight, and incredibly smooth. With quick line pick up and a carbon disc drag system, the TITAL can stop any fish in their tracks. I purchased this reel for Euro Nymphing applications as it has a full cage frame and should balance well with my longer rods. When it arrived, I found that this reel would balance with any of my longer Euro Nymphing rods. Anyone who is into this form of sub surface fly fishing knows that balance is all important and this one does it without having to add additional weight like some other more expensive reels on the market. The drag engagement is butter smooth and has zero start up. With the ultra large arbor, the reel picks up line lighting fast. The machining and attention to detail is far above the price point of this reel making it the least expensive quality machined bar stock aluminum Euro nymphing or any other fly -fishing application reel on the market. Pluses - Impressive design and workmanship, outstanding fish fighting drag system for any freshwater application. Minus - Only a 12-month warranty, but, if you care for your equipment, you never have to worry about a warranty. I'm considering getting the 3/4 reel for my 10' 2 weights as the 5/6 is just slightly tip light.
