It may be old style but still has advantages over Uv resin and superglue. It is more durable than uv resin and easier to handle than superglue. Creates nice and shiny heads.

I like this for large streamers for toothy predators. Seems more durable. Beyond that, I use it as a second layer over Uv resin for Perdigon nymphs because it keeps the color better. Can become solid after a while. You can add some water and heat it and it is as good as new.

While not as popular as it was in the days before readily available UV resins, Loon Hard Head still deserves a place on all our tying stations. It is a quality product, cheaper than UV options and holds up well against fish. I may not use it as frequently as I once did, but I still keep it on hand and recommend others do the same.
