I’m really impressed with the CCFX2. I purchased the 8/10 size. I also own the Nautilus Xl. The CCFX2 has more weight, but the drag is much better and it has a lot fewer sharp edges. It is finished nicely and all the surfaces are smooth. It’s a great reel with what I would consider the perfect spool diameter to width aspect ratio. That translates into great line pickup speed without having to monitor how the line stacks. I prefer the more linear Hatch Iconic drag, but this is still an excellent reel.

These reels do not disappoint. I use mine for musky and striper and it has never let me down.

Bought it for musky fishing primarily in Wisconsin and Minnesota waters. Holds up great! Handles headshakes and runs without any drag issues. Used it for Great Lakes Salmon run with no problems. Between Salmon, Pike & Muskies; the overall durability of this reel was worth every dollar spent. Very smooth, Spey Casting works well, extremely durable drag. Highly Recommend this reel!

Purchased this reel to chase Andros bonefish. Light, smooth, great craftsmanship, and dependable drag. I never had one doubt while bringing in these bones. Always felt in command. This will not be my las CCF.

I use this reel on my 9 weight Scott rod - has a great drag and not too heavy, probably getting the CCF for my 8 weight as well!

Bought this reel on reference from a friend. Used his a couple of times and was impressed. These are great reels that can handle big fish in salt water. Shipping was fast and service is great.

I discovered Nautilus reels on a saltwater flats trip to Ascension Bay where these reels handled big fish and brutal conditions (UV, Salt, bumpy flats boat rides) without failure. I love to chase large northern pike on the fly in Saskatchewan and Alaska and this reel has never let me down even on 48"+ ice-out pike who are hungry and especially mean that time of year. The drag is on it's own level above Ross, Orvis, Sage, etc. which are all reels I own as well. If I had one reel to take on a remote trip for big-game, this is the one I'd bet on. It laughs at the hardest runs and can take a beating in travel and on the water.
