The Echo Lago is something that is needed in this price range. I really enjoy fishing 10 foot rods, especially with fighting butts. They excel at stillwaters and also nymphing heavy rigs. The Lago is a decent rod but understand that this price point only allows so much performance. People try to compare an H3, Echo Stillwater, or Sage X to rods under $300 and the fact is, there is a difference. Swing weight is the most obvious difference, but that is not to say that the Lago is a poor product. I actually like it alot. The action is really nice and it has some good power. The 6wt is easy to cast a long way which is great for lake fishing with long leaders and indicators. The cosmetics of the Lago are well done. The blank is beautiful, the cork and reel seat are great! I have become more and more impressed with the recent Echo products and this is a good example. I just love the unique options that are not available from most companies at this price range. Over the last few years, I've been really focused on finding the best available products in that midpriced range. Echo nails it in this area. I would recommend the Lago and I want to try both the 5wt and 7wt in the future. If you want a cool, unique new toy, get one...
