I fished the Shadow X3100 with Rio Elite sinking tip wt3 in Ausable River near Keene Valley NY for 4 days 2 weeks before Christmas. the combo was well balanced and the line performed well with temps in low 40's for highs and low 30's for lows. Fishing was slow with small #20 nymphs but was able to land and release 2 browns. The rod paired with Ross Evolution combo performed well under difficult conditions. The Echo Shadow X 3100 is the best nymphing rod that I have ever fished.

Great for euro nymphing and paired with SA Infinity, it makes a great dry fly rod as well.

The Shadow X is truly the finest Euro rod I have fished. The adjustable weights, low swing weight and perfect action make it a really wonderful rod. I have become an Echo fan in the last 2 years from their great products and this is one of them. Its alot of money, but it does compete with the high end rods. Plus, Echo's warrant and tip replacement is awesome! Buy one!
