I’ve had these for a few months and used them a lot, here are the cons: Dries slow, need a little more drainage, when you get home, wash good with detergent water, rinse well, put on boot drier or you will smell them from far away. Must use at least an ankle sock-wore the back of my foot out from the rubbing, put on socks, no problem. The soles need lugs-when you get on moss covered rocks, splash, in the mud and most other times good traction. Pros: comfortable, does not let rocks and debris in.

Nice show and liked idea....but ran too small for size for me. would be better fit and comfort one size larger. light shoe however with great potential

These shoes are a great alternative when boating and wading from the banks. The shoe fits perfectly, yet snug, though would recommend wearing a thin neoprene sock (.05 to 1.0 mm), otherwise you’ll feel the stitches on the back, which may rub you wrong. Otherwise a great shoe! Would highly recommend.

These are the best solution to wet wading I’ve found yet. Lightweight, easy to put on and very comfortable even with a long day on the water. Built in neoprene collar keeps debris out and Michelin sole grips well. I wear a lightweight pair of ankle socks to prevent chafing and get little to no debris. This is a well thought out product and would highly recommend for those who don’t like dealing with heavy wading boots and bulky neoprene socks in warm weather but still want some protection. Very pleased with these boots.

Hybrid mid-ankle hiking shoe meets wet wading shoe. Results are very good. The Approach is much closer to a shoe than a boot and very flexible and extremely light. I've walked approx. 10 miles in these shoes in the past month and have been very impressed with how they perform both on the trail and in the water. Drainage from the shoe is very good and the toe guard was good thinking on the part of the design team. Grip is very good on granite river rock and the shoes do offer good support. The shoe laces garage is also a great design idea as it keeps laces hidden and away from brush snags or line tangles. .. The shoes are initially a challenge to put on as the ankle sock creates a small opening but the purpose of the ankle sock is sound as it really does eliminate debris from getting into the shoe. I have found the easiest way to get the shoe on is to grab ahold of both the front and back loops of the ankle sock and then slide your foot in 90 degrees from the front of the shoe and then as you pull on the loops of the ankle sock, twist the shoe on your foot so your foot faces the front of the shoe as you lever and pull on the ankle loops. Be mindful this is a not your normal way to put shoes on, but it does work with these shoes very well once you figure it out. Getting the shoes on is a challenge for sure, but this method has worked the best for me, and I've tried many methods. The trade-off between keeping debris out of my shoes and the difficulty is getting the shoe on is an acceptable one for me. Not sure how durable the ankle loops will be but time will tell. Like other reviewers, the Achilles heel rub can be a problem dependent upon how your foot moves in the shoe while walking. This was definitely an issue for me when the shoes were new, forcing me to wear a thin pair of wading sox to avoid the heel chafing/blister. However, over time the heel rub issue has diminished quite a bit and now I can wear the shoes barefoot for short fishing trips without heel issues. But if I'm going to be walking several miles to get to a fishing spot I would definitely either wear the thin wading socks to begin my journey, or at least pack them in my gear bag so I would have them if/when the heel chafing starts. Last thing you want to do is be a few miles away from your vehicle and then develop a heel hot spot and not have packed your wading socks, as it will be LONG, PAINFUL journey back to the car. .. Other than the heel issue (which can be mitigated) I love these Approach Wading Shoes..

Took a chance with minimal reviews and this being a new product. I never go cheap when it comes to my feet. I believe these shoes will be great. Went out once and am very impressed with the traction, comfort, and water release. I waded for an hour and was very comfortable. I really enjoyed these vs my past boots, sneakers and sandals.
I wear between a 11.5 and 12. Went with the 12 and they fit perfect. Also using the .5 NRS sock. Perfect combo. If they are durable then these are a no brainer for wet wading.
