The RIO Perception is an easy casting, general purpose fly line that casts nymphs, dry flies, streamers and soft hackles with ease. The short head makes this a particularly good line on smaller rivers and lakes when long distance line control is not necessary. The line features MaxFloat Tip Technology, RIO's proprietary tip coating formula that floats more than twice as high as regular line tips, without any increase in diameter.

I got this line a few months back and used it on 5WT rig... performed amazing. Great cast. Overall very happy with this line and highly recommend it for trout fishing.

I purchased this line to set up w/ an Echo Dry in 6wt. So far, so good! The line loads nicely with the more finesse, slower action tip of the Echo Dry. I've only fished dries and dry droppers. I can manage 30-45ft casts easily and mending is quite subtle. It's a great pair.

I put this amazing line on a 7wt Lamson Remix on an Echo Base 7wt rod. The balance and taper of this line elite! The line shoots out so smoothly with Rio’s “Slick-Cast” and chucking streamers is a breeze and a blast! I would highly recommend this line to anyone for any type of fly fishing!

Paired this with a Moonlit Lunarglass 3wt 6’8” for small stream trout fishing. Loads quickly and casts smoothly.
Feature-wise I like the printed ID on the line, good now that I am expanding my line options, welded loops are fine, but I will cut of and replace with a nail knot, some 20lb mono and a perfection loop. The dual tone is also a nice feature to see when I am at the end of the sweet spot in terms of casting distance.

Was my second choice as my first was out of stock. Came installed on the Hatch reel that I ordered. Casts nice and smooth and floats nicely on the water. Plus I saved a few bucks. Good choice overall.
