SCOTT SECTOR 908/4 FLY ROD : 9'0", 8WT
The new Scott Sector Fly Rods won both the coveted “BEST OF SHOW” and “BEST SALTWATER FLY ROD” Awards at the IFTD Show in Denver. Up until now, the Scott Meridian was widely regarded as the best saltwater rod of all time. Well, that's changed. There are some very good reasons why the Scott Sector swept the top awards. The Scott Sector Saltwater Fly Rods deliver higher line speeds and tighter loops effortlessly, turning over your leader straight into the wind. The Sector rod allows you to pick up your entire fly line in one backcast, and redirect your line when the fish changes course, placing your fly on target wherever you want it. The 9'0" 8wt model is the ultimate choice as an all-purpose saltwater rod for backcountry reds, chasing bones on the flats, or working the shoreline for whatever cruises by. This is simply no better saltwater 8wt on the market!
The Scott Sector feels light and alive in your hand, with an intuitive feel that will make any angler a better saltwater caster. This is a rod that is perfect for short quick shots as well as long distance shots. Never before has a saltwater rod excelled at any distance from 20 to 100ft, and everywhere in between. The Scott Sector will also allow you to float the fly in quietly, when stealth is required to avoid spooking your prey. As a finishing touch, the Scott Sector is hand crafted with the very best components to ever grace a fly rod.
Building on the success of the Meridian and Scott's 'ReAct' technology, the Sector series is built on newly designed tapers, using new materials technology and features all-new components you won't currently find anywhere else. The keystone of the new Sector series is Scott's new 'Carbon Web,' a technology which encases unidirectional fibers—which typically run vertically along a rod's blank—into a "web" of ultra-light multi-directional carbon fiber. The benefits include improved torsional stability, better tracking, and a reduction in the propagation of micro-fractures that can ultimately lead to your rod quitting on you when you need it most. The combination of this new Carbon Web technology, ReAct Technology, and newly designed tapers allowed Scott to build a rod that is more efficient at generating line speed and power, is effortless and intuitive to cast, and improves accuracy even when redirecting your fly. No need to dream about your perfect saltwater fly rod. It’s here now. Pick up your new Scott Sector fly rod today!

Casted all the top rods at the shows and decided on this rod. Would characterize it as finesse and fast. For me pairing it with the flats pro line really allowed me to open up my cast. Casting with different lines didn’t put it above the rest of the high end rods. Bendable guides with high rod finish. Pairing it with an Abel rove for expected durability in remote destinations.

This is a great rod. You get what you pay for. It is extremely light yet handles pretty much every size red in Mosquito lagoon. I have paired it with Abel SDS 7/8 and SA Amplitude Smooth Grand Slam as well as Rio Elite Flats Pro. Both work great. Definitely loads of fun to fish and durable enough to handle. Very good when the wind picks up. I am very satisfied with the purchase

Purchased for fishing snook and small tarpon from the beach and off a skiff. This rod has amazing feel, power and presentation. Punches fly great into a moderate headwind! Very happy with my purchase and the amazing service from the guys at RFR!

I thought I was at a plateau in my casting ability. The Scott Sector 9' 8wt instantly added 10-15' to my casts. Most importantly my accuracy increased markedly. This rod is light, responsive and powerful. This going to be my go to rod for bonefish. Next step, purchase a Scott Sector 9' 7wt.

I purchased a Scott Sector 9’ 8wt a month ago and I couldn’t believe how well it casts. I’ve spent the last few years buying cheaper gear, hoping that they’d perform above their price tag, but I feel like I wasted a lot of money. I knew I made a good decision with this rod when I discovered that I could cast almost to the backing with only a couple false casts- accurately! I like this rod so much that I picked up a 5wt Scott Radian last week!
