I was looking for a rod primarily for dry fly presentation to rainbow and brown trout. Sought a 8’6” 4wt. I have fished a 9’ 5wt Boron III for a number of years, which is a fabulous rod, but wanted something a tad more delicate. I looked at the Scott Centric but inventory was scarce. Settled on the Air 2. What a great choice. Close in casts to a nearby river bank under a tree are as delicate as could be. No worries about slapping the water with the line. All the power needed to get the line distance with incredible control and finesse. The lighter weight resin that Winston is using on the Air 2 make a huge difference. This is a precision instrument that takes dry fly and light nymphing to a very refined level. I do truly enjoy every opportunity I get to put this rod in my hand. They are expensive, but you get exceptional value.
