Great rod for bass, carp, steelhead, etc when you need to make far and accurate casts. For Great Lakes Steelhead in particular, this rod is perfect for someone looking for a rod with a little extra backbone to keep the fish out of structure.

The Orvis Clearwater is a great beginner rod. I use the 10ft 8wt for big browns, steelhead, and salmon in Lake Ontario tribs. It performs very well and I would recommend it.
