ORVIS CLEARWATER 909-4 FLY ROD : 9'0" 9WT
The New Orvis Clearwater 909-4 Fly Rod is the perfect choice for mid-sized saltwater species such as bonefish, redfish, stripers, or whatever cruises by. This versatile 9'0" length, 9-weight is also ideally suited for large freshwater species like salmon, big largemouth bass, pike, and musky. The Clearwater 9wt performs equally well in both fresh and saltwater, while covering big water with ease. It's strong enough to stand up to the roughest conditions and toughest fish, but light enough to cast all day. The Clearwater 909-4 is perfect for when you need to punch flies into the wind and turn over bulky flies, all without wearing out your arm. Swirling stripers and bruiser steelhead don't stand a chance against its power, smooth action, and fish-turning ability. Features an anodozed saltwater reel seat with cork-and-EVA foam fighting butt.
The new Clearwater Rod Series is not just a cosmetic facelift, but a complete overhaul from the ground up by Orvis's Vermont rod designers. Everything has changed except the value. It's still the best fly rod you can buy for the money, but with a significant upgrade in performance and looks in a comprehensive series that covers every angler from small stream addicts to Skagit slinging two-handers. Each rod was designed with a purpose-built taper and action to handle the specific fishing situations that each rod model is designed for. The action of the Clearwater rods progress from from medium-action small stream rods to medium-fast freshwater rods and continue up to fast-action big game rods.

I received this rod as a Christmas gift and I use it with sinking lines to chuck big heavy flies to stripers. The new Clearwater rods perform great for their price. I have a Helios 3D 8wt and this rod holds its own!

Really great rod, I’m able to cast big streamers for pike. Now just waiting for ice off! Rod will do the trick on a 40 in her!

This is the best rod on the market for its class and price it’s a medium/fast action rod . Cast smith and you can really set the hook smoothly not wat I expected from a rod at this price . All I can really say is that I would have liked it to have more of a classier finish like its smaller weight brothers of its class but then agin the price does some that up
