Very well constructed and very durable. Also quite water resistant. It has much more space than the regular version.

I purchased this pack to eliminate my vest because it was too heavy. The Orvis Guide Sling pack fit the ticket as it's large enough to get everything you need inside for a day on the water (fly boxes, leaders, split shot, tools, etc.) along with a rain jacket, water and lunch. In addition to being roomy, it is easy to put on/off and is easy on your back because it's well balanced. I especially like the recessed Tippet Whippet because it holds all my tippet (fluorocarbon and mono) in an easily accessible spot. A net can be used by either attaching it to the D-ring on the pack or between the pocket on the back of the pack that sits between the pack and your back. The extra zip pocket on the strap is handy for dry fly desiccant powders like Loon or Frog's Fanny. This is a great pack and I highly recommend it!

This is an excellent sling pack with easy access to gear and room for an extra layer and a beverage. It fits very comfortably on my back and does not interfere with movement on the water. The guys at the shop were out of the sand color I ordered but were super communicative and I like the camo color even more. Highly recommend!

Very well constructed, plenty of room for all your needs. Very well designed, only negative is the net holder, hard to get net back in after use

Truthfully, I didn't want to give up my roomy backpack. In the end, however, I was really over the fact that I couldn't swap out flies and access what I needed in the middle of the river without risking dumping all my gear and "donating" it downstream. While it may not hold quite as much as a backpack, it's a very, very roomy sling pack with a positive design that has the angler's needs in mind. I've taken it out a few times now and I have absolutely zero complaints. The price point didn't hurt as much as it probably could, given the competition. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to any angler looking to carry enough for a day on the water.

I was looking for a sling pack that had carry capacity and some unique features. The Orvis Guide Sling Pack met the criteria I was looking for. It has lots of room for all my fly boxes and other gear I need for being on water all day including my lunch. It also has a nice slot for holding my net. I purchased pack in camo color and it looks great! Definitely recommend if your looking for a sling pack.

First time fly fisher, first time pack buyer. Orvis quality seems pretty good. Functionality seems reasonable. Haven’t had a chance to get loaded up yet. Fast shipping from reelflyrod. Will order from them again!

I got this pack after being a longtime lumbar pack wearer. I kept running into issues with my pack getting wet and having to take my net out of my pack to get inside it. This Orvis guide sling pack eliminates these problems. The sling pack sits high enough on my back that I don’t have to worry so much about it getting wet. Also, when you flip the pack around the net is horizontal and across your body rather than in your face. For reference on net size, I have a fishpond mid length net. This pack is also comfortable as the shoulder strap is padded. It has a ton of room. I had one of the biggest lumbar packs on the market and this guide sling pack easily fits all my gear with extra room for more if wanted. Highly recommend!
