The Hydros reel incorporates an improved seal carbon and stainless drag along with a reduction in weight balance for lighter fly rods. I honestly have never been happier with a reel. This was my first purchase into nicer branded reels and I don't think I can go back. Feels great in the hand, spins smooth and the drag is able to hold it's own. I am happy to see where this takes me in the future!

Great reel. I had one for a 5 wt rod and added this one to go on a 9wt for saltwater. For the money a great buy for someone that fishes saltwater a couple times a year. Performed great.

I bought this reel for a 10 wt rod that I use only a couple times a year in the salt. I wanted a solid reel without breaking the bank and this recommendation was spot on. Great looking reel with smooth retrieve and strong drag. I bought the extra spool too

My Orvis Hydros V is a great reel. I put it on my Orvis Recon 10wt rod and they go together perfectly. Solid drag and smooth action. Completely satisfied and as always with Reelflyrod's service.

Large arbor makes line retrieval fast and easy. New design is appealing, but I wish they kept the older models drag knob. New knob is difficult to dial in with gloves on.
