The New Orvis Recon 966-4 fly rod is completely redesigned for 2020! This is a great heavy nymphing rod with the power to handle heavy rigs and the reach to control the drift for longer periods. Orvis Recon fly rods are each hand crafted in the USA with a completely new ferrule design, a matte blue blank with charcoal and light blue accents, and an anodized type iii solid aluminum reel seat. The New Recon uses the Helios 3 as a foundation, utilizing its construction techniques and performance attributes to refine and improve the new series.
