Reel has a super strong drag that will stop just about anything. Purchased for my 10wt Predator for inshore saltwater use. Not sure how the drag and finish will hold up to saltwater over time but at this price point for a saltwater reel it’s tough to beat even if it only lasts a few seasons.

I use this reel with a Redington Predator 9wt for Pike. Great combo and great reel. It is cast, so you have to understand the downsides of this, but if you aren't planning on dropping your reel and kicking it around, I don't believe it makes much difference. Drag is great but honestly its not necessary to have one this strong for nearly all freshwater fish. Its a heavy reel, which I actually like especially with rods with a heavy swing weight like the Predator. The reel is durable, simple, effective, looks cool, and doesn't cost much. I love that. I have a hard time paying alot of money for any freshwater reel. It is just not necessary 99% of the time. I own several of these and will buy more. I recommend it for sure!

I reviewed this reel out of the box in late 2021, but wanted to follow up now that it has seen a fair bit of water. It balances extremely well when paired with my 9wt Predator and has easily handled the 50+ redfish I've managed to hook over the past six months.
However, the first real test of the Behemoth came this past week while visiting Central America where its drag proved strong enough to slow the black (skipjack) tuna I battled. Yet still remained smooth enough to handle the sudden burst from a Golden Trevally that took me into my backing within seconds. Admittedly, the latter eventually cut me off on a pylon, but that fault lies with the angler not the reel.

This reel came paired with a 9wt Redington Predator I recently purchased. At first glance, this reel is an absolute beast. Admittedly light given its size, this is a big reel that will hold a lot of backing. It pairs well with the predator and appears well built. Can't wait to put a few reds on it and give the backing a proper test run.
