The
new Redington Rise Fly Reels are simply beautiful looking,
lightweight reels completely redesigned and re-engineered for the series. Rise reels are precisely machined on CNC machines using the
highest quality 6061-T6 aluminum. The beefed up drag system is a carbon
fiber disc drag with smooth, fish stopping power and an oversized drag
knob for quick drag adjustments. Twin molded, soft-touch ergonomic
handles finish this reel that easily converts from left to right hand
retrieve. The Rise III reels come with a Redington nylon reel pouch and
are covered by the Redington Lifetime Warranty. This is an awesome
looking reel in every color, and performs as well or better than reels

Considering that this reel is fully machined, it is a darn good value. I realize that it isn’t a US made reel (made in Korea) but my budget just won’t accommodate a $1000 reel. The drag is way stronger than you’ll ever need and the finish is quite nice. I fished with a guide’s Hatch recently and honestly I can’t see much difference in performance. I’m not a guide so I don’t expect to ever wear out a reel in my lifetime. I really wanted a machined reel to match up with my Redington Predator rod and this one suits my needs just fine.
