I'm a novice and wanting to learn some simple fly tying skills. I've been told to get a good enough vice that it will solidly hold your hook. This vice definitely holds the hook and appears to have features of many of the much more expensive ones. I like it!

I'm new to fly tying and don't tie much other than simple nymphs, so don't need some fancy vice. This one is well made and gets the job done. Love how it can just be clamped to table and secured.
