Ive never used more expensive line but this does the job well and feels much better than cheaper lines ive used.

Rio Avid is a good inexpensive general purpose line. I keep one of my 3wt outfits rigged with this as my truck pack

Bought this line for a 4wt trout set up. Feels very smooth, is easy to cast and does all it need to do for a simple rig. The welded loop on the front makes it easy to connect leaders and the color offers good visibility in the water. I have noticed it tends to have some memory coming off the reel, but regularly stretching the line helps a lot. I plan to buy again!

Bought the line for a 25 old Orvis Battenkill Disc II and a just as old Cabella's Stowaway 5pc 4wt pack rod. It's my truck rig...for those days I happen across a fishy looking stream or creek I've not noticed before.

Paired this line with an Orvis Battenkill disc reel and 4wt Rod. Good combo for smaller to mid-size trout. Great casting line for closer to mid-range, but capable of some distance with a to match. Hard to beat this line for the money!

Bought this line for high alpine trout fishing while I'm backpacking. Paired it with an Echo Base 4 wt and it's phenomenal, loads the rod well and does just about everything else right too.

This line picks up off the water very easy. Highly recommend for the price. Not as pricey as other line but still performs well for nymphs and dries
