This is my first somewhat expensive reel. I got a new rod and wanted to pair it with a cool reel. Very great quality and has a great clicking sound. I recommend Ross.

I use this rod for freshwater LM bass fishing. I wanted something well build but i don't need a fully sealed drag. So far this reel has performed well. It is ultra light weight and looks well built. I will be purchasing another for my 7wt.

I can’t say enough about Ross reels. Quality and functionality is absolutely unmatched. Sure you can spend money on a more expensive reel but you won’t get any more performance. They make some of the best reels I’ve ever fished! 10/10 would buy it all over again

Reel is lightweight, lighter than previous model, has a very good drag. Line capacity is as specified. 7/8 reel held up to a week of hard streamer fishing including two browns 24", both drift boat fishing and wading.

Ross reels are exceptional, and this Animas continues to be a workhorse. 8wt smallmouth rod and some light salt are destined to be in the reels future!

The spool no longer goes on the reel. I have to take it apart to fix it in place. I've been able to deal with that but recently the drag stopped working and the reel freespools. I contacted Ross and they were very responsive and offered to service it for free, but in the meantime it's prime fishing and my reel is broken...
