With concave spool surface, for optimal line capacity and drag-assisting smoothness, the SPECTRUM is lightweight, extremely durable, and packed with features you’d expect on higher priced reels.
The Sage Spectrum Reel 5/6 is the best all around trout or bass fly reel for any 5/6wt fly rod. Durable, yet ultralight, the Sage Spectrum 5/6 will have the power in the drag system to land a 8-10lb brown trout, but be smooth enough for 7X tippet on a tailwater.

Solid reel. Balences my 9'6'' rod really well. The black has paint chipping from being dropped on rocks but it still is holding up well

I bought this reel to match with my new Sage X 6 weight. The reel I was using was too heavy to realize the full benefit of the light weight design of the Sage X. This Spectrum reel is perfect. I haven't used in the field much yet, but will have the opportunity this week. The balance and feel of it combined with this awesome rod are amazing. HAd them load it with a nice line and backing. So easy!

I have the Spectrum in 5/6 and 9/10 and both are well built with smooth drag systems. The 9/10 has been in the salt and landed up to permit and similar sized fish, and have held up really well. They just ooze quality. Have recommended them to many friends.

This is the Reel!!! Long story, but my husband was given this reel along with his first Sage ( sonic) rod, after 40 years of marriage, and was blown away with the craftsmanship and detail, as well as the performance of the drag! I love it and him!!!

I have had the Sage Spectrum for a year (purchased elsewhere) but is a dream of a reel. Solid, sweet sounding and perfectly balanced with my St. Crouix rod. need to buy some extra spools but wouldn't hesitate to purchase again!
