For me, SA Anadro is an all around freshwater line rather than only for heavy flies & rigs. I find it handles unweighted soft hackles & dry flies with ease, delicacy, and control from 20-70+’. Roll casts & mends beautifully. If it seems heavy, go down a line size. I prefer it to SA Infinity or Trout & find it turns over every leader & fly I put on it really well. If you know how to cast & control the line with hauling, Anadro works really well.

This is an excellent choice for throwing nymph rigs as well as streamers. Easy to shoot line with the extra load provided from being 1.5x weighted, but manages to still mend well.

This line does just what the advertising says.......it helps you cast large, heavy rigs. Roll casts very well, and the long tapered head makes long roll casts and mending easy at distance. Slick coating allows the line to shoot well when overhead casting. The line is heavy (1.5 x line weight) which you can really feel when false casting. This is not necessarily bad as it loads the rod deeper into the blank.

I bought this line for my 8wt rod for throwing big flies and weighted rigs with split shot. I had been using a SA MPX which is great for smaller flies and top water flies, but does not do as well with heavy rigs. This line is great. It roll casts with authority and will turn over impressively heavy rigs. It is 1.5 sizes heavy so It will load your rod quickly and load it down into the butt section with more line out. If you fish heavy and or big flies, this line will make your presentations easier. Also with the long head length it mends really well.

I have the same SA Anadro line but not the amplitude on another of my 9' 8wt setups. Wow does this shoot out faster and cleaner. Both are great lines but this is certainly a cut above. The performance is well worth the cost in my opinion.

I picked up one of these guys in a 5 wt recently. Got to use it this weekend on a big western river using quite heavy weight and a big bobber. The line worked really well. It turned over the rig when I needed, the tip was easy to track, mending was indeed pretty easy, and the tip floated nicely for me. Really well suited to my heavier indicator setup.

I bought this fly line to use on my TFO Axiom II-X for throwing streamers and large nymph rigs for trout. It's perfect for that. It loads the rod well, has a long head for mending and casts with authority. I highly recommend it.
