I finally got a chance to cast my 8 weight Scott Wave and have to say I am very impressed. My previous and first saltwater rod was a reel clunker compared to this. The Scott Wave is very light in hand and swing weight. It responds well when I push it hard with some good double hauls to throw long bombs, but It also has good feel up close within 40 yards. The only gripe I have is the small reel locking rings. I would have preferred that Scott left out the stylish reel seat and went with a simple anodized aluminum seat with oversized rings that are easier to lock down, especially for a saltwater specific rod. Overall though, I would highly recommend this rod!
