Who did I ever go without these? Greatly improved traction slippery rocks and have a very good lifespan. I used some Aquaseal FD to keep the tight and in place.

I buy studs for all my SIMMS wading boots ( felt or Vibram ). They definitely help when walking on slippery rocks and can save one from falling. The placement of these cleats is covered on a SIMMS web page ( https://www.simmsfishing.com/streamtread#cleats ), though SIMMS wrote to me "It all comes down to a personal preference and what you feel is going to provide you the most traction." I've used the suggested stud placement on their web page and so far it's helped.
