Beat all expectations. Fly threader is game changer.

High quality and excellent design with the extra features, like them better than my not so 'Abel' nippers.

These Simms Pro nippers are super sweet! The blades are super sharp and nip through anything that one would want to use them for on the water. In fact they are so good one might be tempted to use them for thing that they are not intended for.
The fly threader is GENIUS! As a nascent sexagenarian (READ: just turned 60) I am visually challenged but I can tie a fly with the tiniest of tippet gauge!
The Fly eye cleaner is in a good spot. No more unintentional stabbings for me! There is even a flat plane to crimp shot onto your line. It basically has most everything you need. There are no springs holding open the nippers, that is accomplished with opposing neodymium magnets. Ingenious and functional because you won't have to worry about fouling you line on a spring (it happens...)
2 negatives to consider:
1. The price. They are definitely on the high end for nippers.
2. The blades are not removable for replacement as far as I can tell. They look riveted. It this price point they should be screwed on and user-replaceable in my opinion.
I would buy them again and I would recommend them to anyone looking for such a versatile set of nippers.

This thing is pricey, but to me, well worth the money. It is well engineered and the extra functions, split-shot masher, eye cleaner, and magnetic hook threader just put it over the top...oh, it is a quality nipper as well. The website color, at least on my monitor, is a bot off (more red)but the nipper is truly Simms Orange. The only possible drawback, and only time will tell, is the nipper blades are not replaceable like the Abel.
