The Mad River is still running ultra low and clear, 108 cfs in Urbana. The word on the street is that there is fresh fish along the corridor. The afternoon bite has been the best for our guides and friends. Once the water temperature increases a few degrees, the bug activity has increased. Blue-winged olives and tricos in the sz 20 are the only flies that we have been able to surface target. If you are nymphing, locate deeper pockets, pools, and tailouts. Tungsten beaded heads are the hot ticket as the trout have been very close to the bottom substrate. Once we get some rain, the leaves and debri should hopefully allow for a better fishing experience. However, this weekend weather looks terrific. Try to get a line wet.
Stop by the shop on Saturday, we are open 8-2pm.
Good Luck.
