The weekend is here and we are in the dog days of summer. The recent rains have really messed up the clarity on the water. The water levels are about perfect with a little more water this year than last. However, the stain color is making it tough for anglers. Look for fishing small feeder creeks and streams and along the shoreline/rip rap this weekend. Twin Creek, Mad River, and Wolf Creek will clear much quicker over the weekend. Weather forecast is looking awesome with no rain till around Monday or Tuesday.
With this type of stain and water level, the best bet is to wait till the evening time and use poppers for the fish to locate. The team really likes hard balsa poppers for deeper pools and runs and sliders for the shallow along the shoreline presentations. Look for the water willow vegetation to hold some great bass. Hopefully next week we can get a little clarity back on the rivers and present some baitfish patterns.
Stop by the shop, we just received a nice shipment of smallmouth poppers and streamers. Good luck and thank you always for the support.
