I've been a Rio tapered leader user and tried Umpqua's leader in 9', 3x for fishing trout in a float tube. Have not had any change in performance (still catching fish and no breakoffs due to leader quality). I'm assuming I'll have the same results when I use it for hunting trout in streams.
